MCX charts: a practical guide to commodity chart analysis

Build a better MCX workflow for gold and crude by accounting for contract sessions, volatility, timeframe selection and indicators.

Why MCX charts need their own workflow

MCX commodities do not trade like an NSE equity index. Contract specifications, trading hours, rollover behavior, liquidity, and global price drivers all affect how a chart should be interpreted.

Before adding indicators, confirm the contract, exchange, currency context, session, and timeframe. A chart can look precise while still representing the wrong instrument or session.

Set up an MCX analysis desk

Use one chart for the active MCX contract, a second view for a higher timeframe, and a watchlist for related instruments. Add only the indicators that answer a specific question about trend, momentum, volatility, or volume.

charting supports live MCX charts, custom timeframes, drawings, saved layouts, and more than 100 built-in indicators. The platform is for analysis; broker connections are read-only and do not place orders.
